I've had a live Fools Face show on the audio player for play or download since new years eve. It's a show from New Years Eve 1983 when they played the Kansas City uptown. In my opinion this was closer to their heyday and is an excellent show.

Besides the originals they do some great beatles covers, especially Dale McCoy singing Hey Jude, along with a beautiful version of Jimmy singing All The Young Dudes. I'm going to take the songs down this weekend, so if you are interested get them now.

Thanks for posting the Fools Face concert out there. Listening to it now. Just curious, noticed that when they say after the break, they were bringing in some guests. I am assuming by the voice that that is the Rainmakers (or probably Steve, Bob and Rich at that time). That true? Sounds great by the way. I basically grew up with Fools Face and the Rainmakers. Living in St. Louis they played here quite often (even have pictures when Steve, Bob and Rich were playing underneath the Gateway Arch).

I'm an old Fools Face fan. I saw them many times during their heyday- somewhere around a dozen times, I'd reckon. They used to play a long since closed venue here in Kansas City called Parody Hall.
I've seen several of the reunion shows here as well, most all of which have been held as benefits for the local AIDSwalk.

Fools Face
I don't think I've ever written someone about something on their web site, but there is a first time for everything. I had to write to thank you for putting those live FF mp3's and FF test pressing "I Can Tell" for download on your audio player recently. It was like a perfect gift at this time of year, especially the a cappella "Auld Lang Syne." I was especially thrilled to hear "Something About the Rain" for the first time. Before that, all it had been was some really lovely lyrics I'd read a few years ago on the now defunct FF web site. Now I finally have the song to listen to any time I want and it's due to your generosity. Thanks again. Please feel free to add more of the FF music you mentioned on the FF message board :-} A lot of their songs would be new to me, as I lived in a pretty small town when they were touring and only got to see them live twice. The Red Tape was something I hadn't even heard of till reading about it on the FF site.

Actually...
...it was Jimmy who sang \"Hey Jude\" that night, but thanks, Gary! BTW, that song was part of a two-band jam at the end. Although we headlined, the opening band was Steve, Bob, and Rich, who later gained international acclaim as The Rainmakers. I especially remember Bob singing \"Sympathy for the Devil\" in that same finale set. It was awesome. Hope all is well in your world. Drop me a line. Peace & Love, Dale

Fools Face Live
I haven't had a chance to listen to this yet, but one of the most interesting (to me) things to note here is that the band covers KISS' "Rock And Roll All Nite." In '83/'84, this was certainly not considered an "in" thing to do, and the fact that Fools Face did it anyway serves up further proof of what a cool, cool band it was. Thanks for posting this, Gary. Cheers, CC!
