every morning when i wake up i have shap pain in my left hip, and it is frustrating that my doctors have not agreed about what is causing it. some say i have an inflamed bursa. some say it is muscle contracture in the hip. still others say it is my si joint out of place. i also wake up feeling like every sqare inch of my skin is severely sunburned. it feels like it is burnt and peeling and that someon is rubbing it with a brillo pad. i realize my skin is not burnt, as i can look at it and it seems fine, but my brain is still registering it like it is real and it sucks big time. i lay in bed for a few minutes feeling miserable, then get up and addison wheels me ouside. lately the temperature has been chilly in the morning, about 60 degrees, but it feels like about 20 to me, and so i end up feeling worse sitting outside, like i am freezing to death. i take lyrica which reduces the nerve pain for 30 to 60 minutes, then i eat breakfast (

usually bisquits and gravy or yogurt and with it i take 15 mg of oxycodon( anything less has no effect). whenehen the oxy kicks in (usually 2 hours later) i feel a grat sense of relief. i can tell the pain is still there but the oxy makes it easier to embrace it and ignore it .i feel like the oxy clouds my brain and makes it harder to think and focus but it is still a lot better than the pain. to protect my liver i've been taking artichoke extract with the oxy (usually 900mg of enzymatic therapy brand artichoke extract and it has the effect of making it take longer for the oxyr to kick in, and when it does the pain reliefeffect of it is diminished. so the artichoke it obviously helping my liver dotox it out of my system. i am doing my best to get short term pain relief without damaging my liver or becoming addicted to codeine. i know it must be possible to live a good life after a stroke, it is just very challaging trying to find out what it might be, and reducing the level of pain is my highest priority.
if you have any suggestions as to what to do for my nerve or physical hip pain please leave a comment. thanks.

Hi Gary,
Having read the situation you are in, and having been in similar troubles myself (mercury and other types of poisons in my system) I researched everything under the sun, and found out that Edgar Cayce readings dealt with similar stuff very well, but in a different fashion from what we do today.
One interesting overlap is that Edgar Cayce also suggested Iodine for those who have been poisoned. The iodine he suggested was \"atomidine\" (which is what I am taking, and I never felt better!). However, just taking iodine, will only release poisons from glands and make it circulate through the body. There were many other things that had to be done (one of them being - taking the warmest possible epsom salt bath every week or so, to sweat the poisons out), and I think they relate to your current condition (for instance he said that if poisons are not eliminated they will create inflamation in many areas of the body - maybe that explains your hip and skin problems?)

In any case, here is what I would do in your place, having in mind what I read from Edgar Cayce over the years and that I have tried them all myself with great success (and they do make perfect sense too!):

1. Use hydrotherapy to get rid of poisons in the colon. They stick to intestinal walls and are impossible to get out any other way.

2. Use castor oil packs over your liver to get rid of poisons in the liver and gallbladder. Flannel cloth, triple layered, soaked in very warm castor oil, large enough to cover entire liver area and a bit below (on the right side of the abdomen, some 20x20in in size when folded), then place an electric heating pad over it, and keep it like that for at least two hours every day. Then after about 5 days do a colonic or colon hydrotherapy (which is about 10 times more efficient)

3. Change your diet - this is most important:
- Breakfast: always fruits (preferably citrus fruits) or sugar free cereals (never both - they lower pH in combination). No milk, although sugar free yogurt or buttermilk is OK.

- Lunch: salad made from fresh vegetables, with only olive oil and perhaps some lemon (provided you don\'t have any bread as citrus and grain should never be taken at the same time!). Or you can have some whole wheat bread, but no lemon in your dressing at the same time.

- Dinner: some protein is ok: maybe fish like salmon or sardines, steamed veggies (those that grow above ground!), or perhaps chicken (white meat). No beef or pork ever.

So you can see that you are starting your day with foods that support inflamation. Also I remember reading in quite a few places that skin is the best represantation of our liver and the condition it is in. Taking whatever to clean your liver will do nothing unless you get rid of whatever is blocking it (usually gallstones which accumulate in both liver and gallbladder) and nothing seems to work better then very warm castor oil packs (as warm as you can take them).

Also, after doing castor oil packs for about 5 days, take a teaspoon of purest olive oil you can get (organic, first cold pressed). Then repeat the whole cycle again and take even more olive oil if you can (a tablespoon perhaps). I take mine in the morning, after I had an apple, and when that strong urge to eat comes which is about half an hour to an hour later.

Eat foods that support regenaration: grapes, jerusalem artichokes, onions, garlic, ginger, and also those that support clearing of colon: pears, grapes, and citrus fruits (especially grapefruit).

Prayers and visualisation also go a long way. Quiet certainty that improvement will come. Clear picture of the outcome you want. (I pray, although I am not religious. Cayce says that health comese from perfect balance between three aspects of our existance: spiritual, mental and physical which is the result).

Here\'s one quote that I found particulalrly inspiring from him:

\"if you are attempting to have thy physical body doing just as it pleases, thy mental body controlled by \'What will other people say?\' and thy spiritual body and mind shelved only for good occasions and for the good impressions that you may make occasionally, there CANNOT be other than confusion!\"

Good luck!
